Breeding principles

The most important things for us in breeding are:

  • Temperament. You can only can work with animals who cooperate with you.
  • Fertility in general. The efficient production process begins with good fertility.
  • Ease of calving and ability to give birth. It is important to find a balance between calving ease and the ability of the next generation to give birth to her calves.
  • Milking ability of cows. On our large grassland pastures there is crucial that the cow is able to “bring a lot of calve`s kgs to home from the pasture” – this is always the cheapest increase of income.
  • Skeletal quality. The linear scoring of an animal is not just a matter of good look to the eye, but this is connected to a number of functional parameters – from calving to killing.
  • Growth based on forage. Our young breeding animals are selected mainly on the basis of forage feed.
